SpotMyMap is a public digital visibility map. Buyers pay to place a name, abbreviation, or logo inside a country on an interactive world map. ## Core concepts

### Placement
A paid digital visibility unit tied to one country (or multiple countries in one checkout). Includes:
- buyer label and optional logo
- optional link and social URLs
- amount paid (EUR, minimum tiers on /pricing)
- profile type: company, creator, community, or meme lane

### Listing vs painted share
- Listing: the buyer's row stays in the archive and explore views even if paint shrinks.
- Painted share: the visible area on the live map within a country. Others can place more and reduce relative share. Copy on site: "Listings stay; map share can change."

### Map views
- / - primary flat map with ownership canvas (WebGL/canvas, requires JavaScript)
- /explore - HTML list of countries and placements (better for agents without JS)
- /money-map - cartogram weighted by spend
- /globe - 3D globe presentation
- /country/{id} - per-country landing pages when placements exist

### Charity policy
25% of completed placement revenue (excluding VAT, refunds, chargebacks, and payment fees) is allocated to charitable causes via periodic polls. SpotMyMap is not a registered charity; buyers do not receive tax-deductible donation receipts.

## Checkout and management

- Buyers may receive a manage link to update profile fields post-purchase.
- /manage routes are token-gated and disallowed in robots.txt.

## Technical notes for agents

- Homepage includes static HTML intro in `.seoHomeIntro` for no-JS crawlers.

- APIs under /api/ are not for public crawling (boards, checkout, webhooks).
